COVID tested the short-term rental business, specifically Airbnb. Upon the initial declaration of the pandemic in March 2020, many hosts experienced a slew of cancellations. Since then, Airbnb has updated and improved its cancellation policy. The Pandemic has really shown that this business is recession-proof, as even though the demand for travel accommodations have slowed down in hotels, many guests are now traveling (either solo or as a group) and seek more private options such as an Airbnb.
